you could try it, if yoru water starts to get murky, do either lots of water changes or add more filtration

My 125g has a Magnum HOT, an Aquaclear 500 and a penguin 350. One for mechanical, one for bio and one for a little of both. My fish have grown a bit and I'm due for an upgrade, but it worked for one big Oscar and a few catfish.

Take out the gt, or just keep one jd, and it may work. Getting compatable tankmates can always go one way or the other. I don't know much about the wisper filters, but I say get 2 aquaclear 110's and stuff your cascade with bio, and you should have more than enough filtration. No need to spend $300 on an fx5.

just get a canister fluval fx5 only 250 but will greatly filter ur tank and get a caged bottom with a bottom pump wont have to change out water as much
