My summer in Mongolia, pic heavy

So last summer I took a Job in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia to help this Restaurant chain open up a new "vip" restaurant. I also taught "western" cooking classes to 18 students.

At times I really hated it and missed home, but for the most part it was alot of fun and I'm glad I did it.
here's some pics.

this was the view from my apartment.

Ulaanbaatar is the capital and largest city of Mangolia. Summers are short and hot but in the winter Ulaanbaatar is the world's coldest capital city.
The city was left by the Soviets and their influnce can be seen everywhere.

I'm the big guy wearing the Marley Tshirt not the bum sleeping on the bench.

Lots of Buddhist temples:

One of the Khans used to live in that building, now theres a huge golden buddha in there.

I made lots of friends and we like to drink lots of Mongolian Vodka, beer and what not.

I did some cultural things too.

these are from their Naadam festival, they love archery, horse stuff, wrestling ect.. their awesome at it.

Here was my Restaurant

the kitchen was painfully small, hot and cramped.

Here's some of the menu I created, they brought in a photographer, menus there have pics and discriptions in mongolian, russian and english.

Salmon with Schezuan orange glaze

Tenderloin of beef with fried cotton tail onions and zip sauce

heres the company picnic weekend holliday trip they took everyone on.

We got there late and partied hard, lots of drinks, dj, dancing ect..
Then in the morning they were all gung ho to do all these sports competitions, running up the mountain and stuff, while I tried my best not to barf.

There is a funny pic of me passed out on a bench in the blazing sun but I can't find it. I was worthless that day. I really am old and out of shape.

Ghengis is wrong.
