My T Bar Cichlid

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I risked it and got him a female from a different batch and instantly they hit it off. Its currently day 2 of her being in the tank and they are occupying one of the caves. She is moving a lot of sand about, so possibly getting ready to mate

I must say I am really shocked that there is no aggression towards her and she is tiny in comparrison. Fingers crossed they are a success!

I am raising half a dozen juvie Sajica and look forward to pair up soon. Sajica has the look and demeanor of Midas in a small package. I didn't know Sajica is a wife beater. I have its cousin species, C. panamensis, C. nanoluteus and Red Ceibal. They form strong pair bond and don't beat wife. But keeping them in the shadow of bigger tankmates may strengthen the bonding than allowing them to dominate.

I bought mine from an auction in NJ. T bar are hard to get as they are not popular in LFSs because they don't show well as juvies. You have better luck buy them from private breeders or by mail order. I have been looking for it for a while before getting a few.

Thanks for the info. If yours pair up and you end up with babies keep me in mind and shoot me a PM, I could drive up to NJ and buy some off you.
