was looking at my taft today and trying to count rows of scales between pelvic insertion and lateral line and not having much luck. Anyone have good enough eyes to tell off the pictures posted? I sure don't
I can't count em.
One good way to get a clear pic of the scales is to take a picture with flash from slightly in front of or behind the fish. Never take a pic with the camera facing straight into the tank or it'll glare the picture out.
Here are two more pictures. If these are no good I will just net him and take a picture

You're probably gonna have to net him, I can't really tell.
Other than the 2 vs 3 scale thing, another way to tell them apart at this size is the adipose fin. VATF will have a black tipped adipose fin, TATF will have a solid black adipose fin.
