my take on a skimmerless pvc overflow

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I do not think that it will work, I think it will continue to drain the tank until it hits the first hole in the tank drain, then loose suction.

But I am not totally sure,

I think you need to have a "skimmer" part so that water stops going into the overflow, unless it is on a closed loop, then get rid of the hole.

It would work, i have seen several designs online that is just a slight modification, and a better one IMO. would keep the siphon primed all the time but stop sucking water out of the tank once it is below the outlet on the "T" fitting that works as a vent, after that the water would be at equal pressure and happy, untill then it just pushes the excess out the side.

Adding a skimmer would DEFEAT the purpose of a skimmerless pvc over flow....

thanks Chompers. lol

Once people stop thinking that overflows are a syphon it should become alot clearer.

WELL SORRY, DON'T GET YOUR PANTIES IN A BUNCH!!!!

When you ask for feed back, not everyone is going to agree with you. May be I am wrong, and that is fine with me, but I was not attacking you so :chillpill: out man.

Well if it is tried and works, great I may use it because it is cheep and easy, just the way I like it.
