Yeah this would give me the best peace of mind. If any of my braces ever break this is what I'll be doing to fix them.

I bought my first 150 gal back in the mid 80s, they were built with very thick glass back then, and didn't have brace.
Mine was up and running 24/7 without a brace for at least 30 years, and when I moved, I gave it to a friend, and its still running.
It got lots of chips over that time, still running and no leaks.
