My tank seal gave out :(

how exactly did this happen and what brand tank is it? Did you buy this tank used or new and was it ever previously repaired? I've always owned acrylic tanks because i feel their safer against leaks and have never personally experienced this. Now I'm a little worried lol

NO! Do NOT put silicone on acrylic, it does not bond and you will have an even bigger mess on your hands. Learn from my mistake. Sorry to hear about it, this is truly my worst nightmare man.

I bought the tank used. It was DIY and I put work into buffing it out and it held water for 6 months untill... Well yeah. I have looked into resealing with weld on 4. Wish me luck!

Glad the fish are doing good and hope the seal goes good for you. That is def. not a fun experience to go through, i ve been there (on carpet/in a rental). Good luck!

Update: I have reseated the tank. Painted the background and started my DIY plumbing for my canisters. Finishing the plumbing and testing the seal today/tomorrow
