My tank stand is broken

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I missed the party but an easy stand to set up is just some concrete blocks and a piece of plywood. It's cheap too. The only downside is that it isn't the prettiest stand.

I don't understand why that sheet of glass has to be there at all if it is not part of the tank?

Asthetics (wrong spelling) reasons?

I still don't understand how the glass got broken in the first place. Was it already broken when you put the tank on it or did it breaks when you were filling it up?

Why the hell on earth would you use, what looks like to me, a glass coffee table as a stand for a very heavy fish tank. That stand looks terrible, plus it's now broke, and you still insist on bodging it. Throwing some ply on top of that broken top isn't going to make that stand any more robust. Build a new stand for peace of mind. As mentioned, if cost is an issue for you, use cinder blocks with ply on top. That's about as cheap and sturdy as a stand can get.

+1 ^
You have to get a big tank for the those cinder blocks to be able to be destroyed. I have a 75 on 12 cinder blocks. 2 rows of 3 high a space then another 2 rows.
I think a 180 is the biggest I'd go with cinder blocks. Anyone else have an opinion on it?

You could always put it on the floor.
