That is actually a Northern longear sunfish. But thanks anyways.

Always a REAL PLEASURE seeing your tanks!
Thanks Rays!

Really nice tanks. I like your 150 a lot. I'm actually helping a buddy setup a 90 for some longear sunfish right now. I hope we can find him some that look as nice as yours.

Great job! I would of never thought to use wood to hold down other wood (sounds bad I know lol) I'm going to do that in my 55 now probably.

Thanks everyone!

very nice!!! where did you get the wood in the first link?
I collect all my own driftwood.

amazing man. i'll have to look into kitty litter as my next substrate. did you layer it on the bottom. also one more question (there is always a question noob in a thread) what do you think of your carp? do they dig up the plants?

I just poured the kitty litter in. Recently I had to put a layer of sand over the kitty as the carp constant sift through the substrate and kept the tank cloudy. With the sand it keeps the silt from the clay down. I love the carp. They clean up any left over food. They don't dig up the plants but do freak out occasionally and pull out a plant. They do that about once every two weeks.
If you have large bottom dwelling fish I would recommend putting sand over the kitty litter. Larger fish tend to stir up the silt as they swim. It is great with smaller fish.
