I would say from the look of his fins that you had him with tankmates that chewed him up and stressed him out again. You previously said your cichlids chewed him up and then you healed him, next it was the clown knife and you had to heal him up again so It would be safe to say that he met his demise by another tankmate!! Stress is the number 1 killer of payara! Sorry for the loss!

i think you hit it on this. there is no doubt in my mind that the ck killed him.

I also just want to say thank you to everyone in this thread. you guys are some of the nicest and most helpful people I know. thank you for the advice, compliments, and criticism along with getting me the knowledge I need for these guys! on an unrelated note I do not think I will be getting anymore for awhile.
