Nope he meant python.
There's a product called Python Gravel Vacuum, click here

Characins have possibly the best hearing out of most groups of fish (the south american species at least) this is a contributing factor towards the skateyness.

We have a 5' tank in out living room with some large disc characins (metynnis + myleus sp.) and my parents where watching tv and in the film there was a loud explosion and they shot everywhere really spoked em, there was no-one near the tank.

Dimly lit tanks and being quiet around them helps.

They also have a remarkable sight.

Cheers.

yep. Look at your average characin. Larger than scale eyes, and usually a slightly upturned jaw. Alot of them are surface feeders. They spook in home aquaria in part due to lighting thats brighter than their natural habitat.

Didn't you mean your syphon???? or you pretend to feed your P's on a snake?????..:screwy::ROFL:

Lol my bad, i assumed most people new what a python was.

Update: I started tieing there shrimp to a string so i can wobble it around in the water as if it were live and there showing some serious aggression when there trying to bite it and i pull it away lmao, im going to continue with this cause it makes them attack stronger for fear there food might get away hahaha also cause is just dam fun to watch

Hmm, I need to try this. I have 3 RBP's that I have grown from 1 1/2 to now 5". And after all that time, they still are really skittish.

I even have a great deal of plant and hides for them, they still hide for 2 or 3 hours when I do something to the tank, or before they feed. :irked:
