If it hasn't been eating and it looks like a ropefish, it may have parasites.....whether this is true or not, it definitely means it hasn't eaten in a long time. If possible, use prazipro. Keep the lights off, put some driftwood/hiding place, and keep your water crystal clear. Best of luck!!

thing is all my friends polys are size of half dollars he was fed just doesnt eat. Ive only got him to take one or two pieces of tilapia so far. id upload pics but my phone sucks. he is about as thick as a sharpie

no qt he came from someone who has kept polys for 15+years and never had a problem before this guy. Should i treat with prazipro?

He was in his own 55gal for 6 months alone

Post a pic of it and will be a judge of it. But I'd it's not eating still then just treat for now in case. Could be too sick to eat.
