my texas cichlid

got this guy at a lfs at about 2" long a year ago, hes currently at 9". i believe he's a carpintis.

It could be, it was listed as a texas. Hes pretty aggressive, he wont tolerate anything else in the tank including hands.

Truly beautiful fish, it is a hybrid but if you aren't concerned with that it doesn't matter.

I would bet money that it is. Facial structure, coloration in fins, color/pattern of pearling on body. Does not look like a pure carpintis.
