my texas cichlid

I would bet money that it is. Facial structure, coloration in fins, color/pattern of pearling on body. Does not look like a pure carpintis.

I purchased a Texas Cichlid a year and half ago from Rapps and it looks exactly like that.

Got a pic? the differences will probably be slight, this fish looks to me like it is *mostly* carpintis, but does not look like a purebred carpintis to me.
Anything we say without a DNA analysis is speculation of course.
