my thickskin is finally holding!!

There is always a risk of her eating the fry... i usually put her in separate tank.. and hope for the best... i like to see her have the babies... and regain her strength before i put her back in main tank...she enjoys all the blood worms and other food... fatten her up..but all are different in their reaction.. so far i have been lucky because i have never had a female african cichlid eat her fry..i do not know about the sp44 and how well they parent etc... maybe someone else can tell you how it went for them...i am learning about them through you...

Thank you! I can't wait till they grow up enough to see what they are gonna look like right now they are so tiny! She spit out 5 more this morning though so we got about 16 yay!! when do they start to show color, in about 6-9 months? I will definitely send you some females if you want!! :D :headbang2BTW, How do your 3 males get along?

that is wonderful.. a few more .... :Di have two big males together .... i took out some fish that were with them...red fins etc.. i thought they would fight then.. but they have been getting along.. no marks or stress etc.. the third one is in with other species... i thought putting three together would be pushing it.. looking forward to yours growing.. i have no idea whether these guys grow fast or slow.. red fins grow extremely slow.. venustus fast ... in baby stage...
