There is always a risk of her eating the fry... i usually put her in separate tank.. and hope for the best... i like to see her have the babies... and regain her strength before i put her back in main tank...she enjoys all the blood worms and other food... fatten her up..but all are different in their reaction.. so far i have been lucky because i have never had a female african cichlid eat her fry..i do not know about the sp44 and how well they parent etc... maybe someone else can tell you how it went for them...i am learning about them through you...greenearthlawns;3027139; said:by the way what do you do with your females? let them release on their own in a seperate tank? I've tried that and haven't had as good of a turnout... I am considering putting the thickskin in a tank all by herself and let her release I even was thinking about letting her stay in there with them until they all grow so that she's not the only female in w the male... Do you think she would eat the fry if I did that?
BTW, How do your 3 males get along?
