What did you do/add to your tank to get your corals to grow like that? Mine aren't dieing, but they are hardly growing. I notice the most growth from my zoos and softies. My brain, acrapora, and candy canes don't seem to be growing at all.
Hmm, could be my temperature. I'm not running my heater and just to keep the tank away from dangerous levels I have the doors open and canopy propped up a bit. Right now it's like 84-85. I need to get some heat fans to put in my stand/canopy.

I run just a skimmer and live rock with some chato in my sump and I dose KALK with my ATO
I run two T-5 actincs rom 10 am to 8 pm
2x 250w MH from 1130am-530 pm
Water change every two weeks 20%
Good skimmer and clean dead dry rock and cured it my self.
A really hard Nitrogen cycle.
As for growth LPS seem to grow miserably slow..
Give them time.. Months
Zoo's grow the fastest along with most softies.
I have a few SPS that haven't grown a 1/4" in 5 months..
Some do really well some just sit and stare at me like I'm stupid
And lots of talking to your tank and praying..

I dose mag once a month and I use Instant ocean salt I hold my SG at 1.026 or 35 salinity
No hermit crabs at all.
I feed only frozen food except some dried nori sheets and a pinch of formula two flakes once in a while..
Like I said before, I don't put anything in my tank I don't test for.
And, A good foundation, (cycled tank) makes for a good healthy reef

You reminded me that i needed to buy some cheato. Got half a pound off aquabid for a total of 10 bucks.

I need to get my light cycle going again... We had a power outage one night that reset the timers. Could be cause to the extra heat from having the light on to long...
I have a berliner system with a 2.5gallon fuge(all I could fit in the sump) with miracle mud. Hasn't been up for to long, and it hasn't had anything in it but the mud...
I have 6 T5 bulbs... can't remember the types off my head.
My sump is a duel fuction, meaning I can run berliner and bio-balls at the same time which i am doing. Or i have have straight bio-balls or straight berliner.
No room for a skimmer, that is unless I get creative.(i might be able to fit an external one down there somehwere...) Do i need one if i have berliner?

I would look into it..
Gotta keep nitrAtes at less than 5 ppm at all times..
PH stable (turn fuge/sump lights on when tank lights off)light on water at all times helps stabilize the ph of your tank.
MAG CAL & ALK need to be in harmony or you will not get good growth on any stony's.

CAL 400-420
ALK 8-10

hey man i saw u use instant ocean salt. Can I make the suggestion of using reef crystals instead? Its made by instant ocean but has more trace elements. The regular instant ocean is to maintain salt tanks with no corals n reef crystals is specifically made to sustain corals. When I made the switch I saw a huge difference in my corals growth...
