I'm also thinking about buying that purple light. My Acro is still brown and that's probably why. I'll check the pH in a bit.

get your DKH up to over 8, I like 10 its a happy medium

Will do. I also noticed I'm getting more algae spores than normal. Though my phosphates and nitrates are low. The algae is probably growing as soon as they become available, which would explain the low numbers. I'll have to get my protein skimmer going again(it was off because I've been medicating my tang with melafix)

What do you think about using Baking soda to raise DKH? I'm aware it might affect the pH. I don't think I'll be adding enough to change pH that much though.

no it is just a dry ALK part or the Two part doesing.. I use it right now till i get my CARX on line..

I'm having a sudden algae bloom. I'll probably remove the phosphate removers. I'm willing to bet they've run their course and are now seeping nasties back into the water.
