This is my 2,600 US Gallon / 10,000 Litre tank. It extends 2 ft below the floor to give over 6 ft in depth. It is basically a square plan with 9 ft internal sides having one corner cut off and a viewing panel added. Treated pine sleepers are screwed together. Vertical sleepers are cemented into the ground. The interior is lined with fibre cement sheets. The acrylic panel simply sits in a frame and is held up by water pressure. A custom made pond liner is inserted and glued to the acrylic panel. Its been up and running for 4 or 5 years now. I change on average 400 US gallons a week with rain water and add 1/2 a cup of bicarb to maintain pH. Other than cleaning filter media and changing water it has required no other maintenance. It has 2 internal above water pond filters and and external 100 US gallon drum full of brushes for settling out coarse fish waste. Its full of super healthy fat Asian barbs and catfish. Many are over 10yrs old.
