haha, I don't really want to test that. How are your winters there? Are they pretty cold?

SD winters are very mild but tropicals still can't weather it. I tried and lost. That's why I only keep cold water fish in the pond.

Are the masheer tolerant of higher temps (mid 80's) also? I been thinking about getting some but I haven't found much info on their care. And where did you get them?

The ones I got are from India so they are not the tropical variety. I believe it can take warm and cold temps. The ten in the picture are Neolissocheilus Hexgonelepis. I have 50 growouts not yet in the pond which are putitora, morsal and mussullah. Got them all from Rare Fish (MFK Vendor).

Do you know anything about tor tempermant once they get large? I'm wondering if they are koi compatible.

Dangit! Just checked the Texas Parks & Wildlife website and all Tor species are illegal in Texas.
