My Tor pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very nice, love that shade of green you have in the pond. Ours is really dark, almost black. Tors look great, just need some color in there now (koi :D)

Dangit! Just checked the Texas Parks & Wildlife website and all Tor species are illegal in Texas.

They're illegal here too...kind of amazing that Commifornia of all places allows them.

Yeah, I know it looks bland but hopefully my growouts (putitora) will show more color than these neos.
Had show quality kois for over 15 years and got burned out. Even went to Japan to pick them.
Bright green is due to no shade and no salt.

How big are your putitora?

Do you know anything about tor tempermant once they get large? I'm wondering if they are koi compatible.

Putitora is about 4" (top one). Too fast to photograph.

haha...60 mahseers and 2 big barbs in one small pond. JDM pond for sure. Actually, not sure what to do with all of them yet. Just trying to learn more about them. They love to school and grow very fast. Faster outside than in the tank. Color is a lot better on the ones outside. IMO algae is a must for them. The itch to move the growouts is near.
