My Trigrinus Help

hi,

i have Fantastic 8" Tigrinus Catfish in my fishtank. Eating prawns, mussels and frozen foods. At present living happily with small red tailed catfish and frontosas.

Right now i am a bit worried about my tirgrinus because he haven't eat any foods for 2 days now. please help and give me advices

he might not have the opertunity to eat bc of the tankmates. especialy the rtc. has he eaten in the past? if he has then he might be sick bc when fish get sick they are less likely to eat. i would give him a few days it is not going to kill him if he doesnt eat for a week.

dump the RTC

stop feeding prawns mussel and other foods like that until the tig gets past 12 inch they cant digest it properly

feed hikari sinking carnivore

also 2 days without food is nothing tigs are crap hunters and can go without food for 2 weeks + also dont feed it so it has a big fat belly its not good for them

well my tig havent eat 3 three days now.

my tig is 8 inches long... my rtc is 3 inches long


my rtc and frontosas are greedy to eat the foods quickly...

shall i put my rtc and frontosas in 2ft fishtank. my tig will be in 3ft fishtank.

what can i feed my tig?

well my rtc is too fat now cos he ate so many prawns and mussels.

still my tig is not eating for 3 days now....


yea i think you are right cos i shouldn;t feed prawns and mussels.

Dump the RTC
And stop feeding prawn mussel and author sea foods
Only fired sinking carnivore hikari to small tigs under 12 inch

You tig hasn't ate for 3 days that's nothing tigs take a long ti
Me to settle into a new take and sometimes won't feed for 2 weeks and you are panicking that you new tig hasnt ate for 4-4 days with the added stress of having a RTC in the tank

Dump the RTC they are cheap and very easy to get in the UK for as little as £30 if you won't to risk a expencive tig for the sake of a £30 RTC that's up to you

But you have had the advice I sent you via pm it's up to you if you take it but if you don't want to listen to the advice given don't ask

Ask again if you have removed the RTC stopped feed sea foods and the tig has ate for 2 weeks

Btw, it is pretty common for tig owners to feed them every other day. Over feeding is a big issue with tigs. So 3 days of not eating is not a big deal at all.

Don't be surprised if your tig vomits out the shrimp. Any thing it can't digest, it will vomit out.

Just keep the water clean and keep an eye on him. If there are no abnormalities on the skin (ulcers, ick, or red patches), or any abnormal behaviors, then just give it clean water and wait it out.

Pick up some "Sinking Carnivore Pellets" by Hikari to feed him in a few days.

It might take a while for some tigs to take pellets (mine took it right away), but it will be well worth it in the long run.
