My Trimac, real / fake ?

I read in another thread that there is something called fake Trimac, not so surprised since that is the case with alot of cichlids...
But i recently got a Trimac and was wondering if its the real deal or not?
I assume the REAL Trimac is the Amphilophus Trimaculatus, but what species is the FAKE one ?

I posted a pic of mine in another thread and someone said it could be a Flowerhorn...

Note that he is not a dominant fish in the tank and his colors are very dark.
What do you think?

I have kept and bred Trimacs and I would say its not a true pure Trimac!

Unfortunately if you have to ask if it's real or FH, it's probably a FH. Like Red Devil and Midas, same thing. You can't judge by looking at it.

I cant remember well but about 5 yrs ago i bought some from rapps and they looked just like that.but you never know if you didnt get it from reputable buyer like rapps.

actually i got it from a very reputable importer, he kept it himself for a few months. He said it was a Trimaculatus.

Well then it is a most likely a trimac.
