I bought a 3" tsn about 2 weeks ago an at first he was really active an now the last few days he has been swimming on his side an upside down
he hasnt really ate anything since I bought him an he is the only thing in the tank

any ideas what could be wrong with him ?? ?

Check all your water params. post it here and let everyone help you. Your fish depends on it. They are really vulnerable to ich at that size. It may not even show signs of ich until it's too late. i would quarantine it if you can raise the temp to 82-87 f, and add aquarium salt. At least one teaspoon per 5 gals. Let us know how he turns out.

What are your water parameters? Nitrates and Nitrites good? Ammonia good? What have you been feeding, try live ghost shrimp, feeder guppies, small earthworms, hikari sinking pellets, or bloodworms to get him eating if you think he might pull through. Any discoloration of the body anywhere? Pics if you have them might help ~Trent

lol, stop posting at the same time! Grrrrrr...... ehhh, oh well. Alls good when trying to help out a fellow mfk!

I cant do a water test since I dont have a test kit for them but I do water changes every weekend I just added some melafix also to see if that would help

Are you saying the gill covers are red? How long has your tank been set up and what is your filtration like?

also if you are gonna keep a fish that will get as big as he will it would probably be in your's and his best interest to get a test kit or at least take some water in a jar to a lfs and have them do a free test for you. Most will thinking they might make money on something you buy to fix bad water.

its hard to describe hwo the gills are red I know they should be but just behind the gills used to be red an now its gone his whiskers under his mouth are really worn looking compared to the side ones

I know he is gonna get huge thats why I got him to go in my 225 gallon tank
an the aquarium is a new setup but I used gravel from my other tanks an filter media also I added aquarium starter chemicla called cycle

the temp is at 82 an no signs of ick an for filtration I have a aquaclear 200 on it
