i know its to late for advice but sorry for your loss

very small pebble gravel all the way

Is there anyone out there that could find out what is was. Maybe you could take a scrap of the skin and overnight it to a marine pathologist.

I tryed feeding my one male again tonight but no luck. The rest ate ok. It was only the two that i thought was breeding. I even tryed stuffing food under him to eat and he just moves away. This sucks a big one. Ive had these guys for about 8 months now....i had a water issue awhile back i dont know if that did it but this is crazy. I do a 50% water change twice a week and i feed every night. Very little sand on the bottom also. Sorry to use your thead on this but cant get no hits on my other one. I wish everyone good luck on theirs.

everyone is stumped on the cause. im convinced that everyone needs to do more waterchanges....

Sorry to see she died. She was a great looking ray. How are the others in your tank doing?

Sorry for you loss. I had a female motoro awhile back that passed on and her underside looked almost like that. Very very red and irritated underneath on a bare bottem tank. I phoned a vet that handles all the aquatic animals here at the Tenn Aquarium and he felt it was an underlying parasite/bacteria. I should have taken her to me for checkup but it was too late.
