my two tanks

Fantastic aquascaping there, very well thought out :) also cheers for identifying the Hornwort, I'd never came across it but will definitely be looking into it for future set-ups

Thanks guys. I got the idea for the hornwort after reading an article from Lee Nuttal when his Synspilum tank won a Aquascape International award. He had tons of it floating in there and coming from having planted tanks for a 4 year stint...i thought this was the best way to combine the two worlds.

Both tanks look awesome. I take it the drift wood is called the hornwort? Is that available in stores? Just the placement and layout of everything is fantastic. Great job man

thanks guys. The hornwort is the floating plant.

The wood is actually a mix of manzanita, malaysian, and would i collected in a local stream.

my 150 is a mix of manzanita and some type of root that I purchased at an LFS that i can't confirm the type of. It had a nasty smell and rotted quite a bit when i first got it years ago.

Thanks for the layout compliments. It took me several renditions to get to these layouts.

Lol im sure it did take a few trys to be happy with. It just looks like you spent hours on end getting it perfect like that lol

Great looking tanks, is that a GT in the 220 one as well?

.....SD's would be your best bet but they would likely decimate your plants like you said.. How about a group of Filament Barbs?

Agree with Filament Barbs for target fish, as long as you don't have soft leaved plants (almost decimated my rosanevigs T_T).

Other than that, your scapes looks amazing. Now you got me thinking of rescaping mine :D

Thanks guys. The GT is in the 220 for now. He'll be rehomed down the road but didnt have a place to put him without risking him being damaged by stronger fish.
