YOU KNOW
I’m deeply saddened by the unexpected death of a close family member this past Wednesday. In the past year alone we managed to acquire a 75 and 150 gallon tank for the first floor of the house. The love of Oscars led to the purchase of two, as well as the fascination of Red Devils did. With the arrival of the 150 came an Alligator Gar and a Red Tail Catfish. Proper care and t.l.c. resulted in a 24” plus Gar, a 14” plus Catfish, 10” plus Devils, 10” plus Oscars, an 18” Pacu, a 6” Piranha and a 10” Dempsey.

Breeding came natural. Successfully raising, over time, enough Convicts, Green Terrors and Firemouths to almost feed for free. The obvious exception being the gar and catfish who needed a bit more than the usual cichlid pellets.

I was given the honor of deciding what the future will hold for his “babies”. The plan was for me to take everything home with me yesterday (Sunday) until my decision was made. As if what our family is going through wasn’t enough, Saturday the 150 starts to leak from what seams to be the entire bottom of the tank. Every part the silicone met with the bottom pane was leaking. Now all the fish are packed into the 75. Don’t know what to do.

Survived by three children and loved by all.

Que en paz descances

sorry for your loss.
post your location and see if any local members want to adopt your fish (starting with the gar, RTC and Pacu).
Meanwhile I would do daily water changes and keep feeding to a minimum.

Good luck.

Just in the mean time you could buy a 300g rubbermaid stock tank. They generally go for $150 dollars and are found at most hardware/feed stores. My local menards, farm&fleet, and tractor supply stores all carry them. Sorry for your loss, they looked like great fish.

i cant read the black writing thanks.

You can highlight to read it or change the site's skin.

Sorry for everything but stay motivated and positive for u will overcome and for the tank clean both really good and reseal the hell out of that 150 ASAP

Sorry for your loss, but as most have said, if you want to keep the fish, you could get a 300G Rubber Maid tank to hold them till you can sort out their old tanks, otherwise, it maybe an idea to sell them to members on this site or maybe even give them away if need be???

Anyway, best of luck with every thing...
