I suppose the lower jaw and eye position is the easiest way to tell from the video?
There's no real angles from the top in the video. The head slope isn't very significant because the channa is still small. There's no shots of the teeth.
I was on the fence watching the video on my phone (can't see details very well on my phone screen), but I believe you are correct when I look at the lower jaw.

You're welcome. There's a reflection of the fish showing a top view just enough to get the needed top view of the specimen. The long head or narrow profile of the fish / body shape / overall look, lower law and eye position are easiest for me to tell.
It's true the teeth are not visible but I thought I could give the infos for the owner to check and determine for himself.
