Thankyou for the kind words. No it is just 50 pounds of washed pfs should i have mixed anything in with it.

just bought some filter sand it was really coarse like little pebbles instead of sand(but mine said quartz on the bag,and for 10 bucks it will do)

I guess it's a different type of pfs...the grains seem bigger and more heterogeneous in size. I don't think you need to mix anything in it...

thanks everyone and yes i noticed it has little pieces of pebble and shell like stuff in it. it was $10 for a 50 pound bag of quikrete pfs at pinch a penny. there still little so they dont move alot of sand yet but with 10 of them i do notice that they are.

thankyou ya they are very interesting fish as they troll around and sift sand and eat. Although i have one that swims and hangs with my
tetras and not the other gymnos . wierd lil guy
