Can anyone think of an appropriate "monster" for a smaller tank?

how small a tank? leaf fish. stone/toadfish.? can you give a bit more to go on?

55- in general...
the stonefish, if at all like the SW one, sounds intersting, and the leaf fish are kinda nice, but i'm really looking for something unique...

Monster Clown Loaches! And a Datnoid, if you can move it to a bigger tank later.
 
Well exo's are like ADD kids of the fish world.....they are constantly moving are i think are beautiful / unique fish, i love mine.........:headbang2

i was under the vague impression that exodons were much larger...details?? it sounds very good now.

BTW: I hate, i mean absolutely HATE, growout tanks. It makes no bloody sense.

well you might find them boring to be honest. they arent exactly active, and when they are it is usually night time as they are nocturnal. there is Batrachus trispinosus which is commonly available although brackish water fish...
