Bummer Wyld, sorry that it didn't make it for yaz. They can be great pikes though, and sorry that you happened to miss out on the experience.

Rally and Wurm, I wish you guys weren't so prejudice about pikes....just because you had one bad experience with them doesn't mean they are all bad...

Certain people don't help the cause.

What is the so called bad experience??

I didn't have a bad experience, I have never had one. I just noticed the enthusiasm for them and had to razz a bit! LOL

  No doubt.!! My girlfriend keeps discus. Hey Wyldfya, If you want another one Ill give you one of mine, a fat healthy 5'' female. Might even foot the shipping cost just to get you in the club.
If you'll foot the shipping, I'd be down with it!

One side note... I'm the discus Mod, and they are one of the fish that I have begun to go very serious on. They rule the pikes, as they are the king of tropical fish! :D

Personally I like too many fish (No worries davo, there is nothing that could kill my pleco obsession. In fact, with the recent spike in bristle nose prices, I've just picked up a breeding group... not sure yet if they are bristle or bushy, or just all female). I'd like to add a pike cichlid to the list... but they are not common in this area.

Sorry to hear your fish died. Not that it makes a difference, but I think you would like a dwarf pike better. You could keep them with almost all of your fish (even discus- don't tell Jack Watley I said that though).

And about the discus being king... kings get overthrown... hahaha

Holy crap man, you're starting to be as sensitive as peanut about that!
No need to be all butthurt about it:ROFL:
Hahaha butthurt... sorry I forgot to add "hahaha" to my earlier statement... I guess it just lost its joking tone without that. haha

I'm not interested in dwarfs. I don't want to add anything to my planted tank. But there are several tanks I have that don't have enough fish.

why no dwarfs?
