My very own Pike ID thread!

So the same LFS where I bought this guy last year said they would special order some "Jewel Pikes" for me in the hopes of finding a female. They called today and said the pikes were in, so I dropped by. Totally different species this time. :cry:

They ordered six -- five appear to be sveni and one I think is a belly crawler. I would have felt like a jerk if I said, "Sorry, I don't want these" after having the place special order them, so I came home with the belly crawler and a sveni. All appeared to be male. *sigh* The good news is that they were only $8.99 and total was Buy One, Get One Free day, so I got both for $9.00.

And with that, I've now tripled the number of pike species I'm keeping. :ROFL:
 
Any plans of keeping them long term and sharing the experience in another quality write-up?
 
Considering they stay fairly small, I'll probably keep them around. Even though they can be jerks, there's something really endearing and fun about pikes. ;)
