Good observation. Them pics are a week or two old. It was due to a temperature drop (forgot to turn heater back on after wc) that caused an 'upset' tummy, it was only for a couple of days and hes eating and pooing fine now.

nice Old boy.. very cool how its White.... U dont see too many of these royals at such old age.. thanks for sharing.

WTF? LOL Never saw a royal look like that. I have been keeping fish for 40 years plus and never saw that. Looks cool though!

Wow i thought 80$ was alot for a full grown royal but 500$???? i would pay no more than 20

LOL... it just depends on what u want.. and how much u want the fish.... I paid about $140 for my 10" Goldie Pleco.. and thats actually a bargain price for goldie's that size..

People think sucker fish are black sheep of aquatic animals.. but i think if they really do enough research.. they are very awesome and unique fish...

PS: Hope u dont mind the quick photoshop i did..

I would pay that for a really cool fish but royal plecos are big and ugly.... they would be cool in a several hundred gallon tank. i love plecos so much. just not royals, they have a gold nugget at a fare size (4-5") for 30$ very healthy. but i want to buy the 4" 30$ delhezi they have instead.

Big royal plecos are rare because they are extremely slow growers. The demand for them is quite high and as a result, they are expensive. Very simple.

$500 is not at all an uncommon price for a big royal pleco, depending on pattern.

OP - bargain price :D. Very nice fish and great pics, thank you for sharing.
