Had this FRT 6 weeks now. It is in the sump for the time being whilst I feed it up and try and get it on other foods. Came from shop just eating bug bite pellets. Now taking massivore also along with hikari golf pellets too plus in last couple of days small successes with blue berries and banana

Its shell looks nice and smooth now but was a bit rough in one of those pics. Greediest little fella comes to the glass for food and wolfs a load down , I am conscious not to over feed

Any how I cannot wait for him to grow and be a long term pet

Very cool little guy.

These turtles are like another favourite of mine, Softshell Turtles...but without the constant screaming, swearing and bloodshed. :)

Nice. What do they eat?
From what I have read some protein as a baby which he is morphing onto a fruit and veg based diet

He came to me eating just one type of protein pellet I have just got him on to two other types, hes refusing algae pellets for now and most fruit although i got him eating blueberry the other day with pellets in them

Sounds like it's settling in really well! Great that you're already getting it to try new foods — especially fruits. Always fun watching them grow and get more confident. Looks like it's on the right track!

It's in my sump for that reason. its going in my 6ft soon if which it will have sllighty warmer and harder water which will be ideal for it
A load came into the UK last year at a small size and theyve not been the greatest health wise the poor things so I just hope I can get this one bigger and strong
