Well while on my fish raid that ended up with no new fish :irked: i decided i was going to inest into an RV hose so i didn't have to use buckets. well my dad said he had a hose that was drinking water safe, and today i just started using it, so now my w/c just became insanely easy. just throw the end of a gravel vac out the window and syphon out about 50% of the water while being on MFK and then use the hose hooked to the high-pressure outside faucet to fill er up. temps are the only down side, since i can't get them to match very well, but they aren't too terribly off.

Why not add to the investment and get yourself the replacement parts for a python then you can do everything that you need with no problems at all?

ya they are only like $8 cad...

another thing i do to make things much faster is i hook my drain hose to a powerhead to really pump the water out quick AND use my python to gravelvac at the same time. on large tanks it takes so long to drain without a pump or large drain hose(1"+).

live in the country, our well water contains no chlorine or other chemicals, and i've tested it over and over and its pretty damn good quality, albit kind of hard and a high PH.

when winter starts coming closer i'll get a faucet adapter, and i do have a spare powerhead that i could use to pump out water pretty fast, but with my biggest tank being 55 gallons i think i can be a little more patient.

um, really idk lol. maybe i have a bucket fetish? nah i didn't really wanna spend the money on a python so i just used buckets and then with the 55, carrying 6 buckets full of water just got annoying, so i just started draining straight out the window so then i was down to 3, and now i just got even more lazy lol. stepped up my w/c from around 20% weekly to 50% weekly. hope my fishies like it.
