My Wallago Micropogon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Why not leerii? I think I agree with you but was wondering if you know that this is micropogon by the location of collection or by external traits?

Are these named with the prefix micro because they're smaller then other Wallago? I'd love a wally eventually but they're so damn huge haha

BTW nice specimen! I think these have a more attractive look then leeri or attu

I agree! they're much more manageable than leerii and attu aswell.

External traits. Took me a while to ID it.

Can you, please, point to the ID thread or describe?

My impression is that few keepers have even ever known that had a leerii, which comes from only a few small locations. The micopogon and leerii have been split recently by Dr. H. H. Ng and to me it appears that the vast majority of what people thought they kept as leerii, they had the micropogon, which is from the Mekong and Chao Praya basins.
