buying a sick fish from walmart will just give them room to add new fish that will also get sick

What part of VA are you in...when I go to Walmart in my area...I must say there tanks are the most nasties things I have seen. I never seen a tiger oscar there, but cichilds. I will say go ahead and resuce him and get him healthly again.
I recently just bought my first Oscar on Wednesday from a Petco (Dale City)...where the department mgr takes them (any fish) home to cure him from ICK or what ever dieases and OMG that little booger has grown since then...I feed him earthworms from the yard and frozen brime shimp..and as for his treat he gets baby shrimp. That's one happy little fish...

Hey I'm from Fredricksburg, woodbridge walmarts are about the same when it comes to fish care.... non existent. I would never buy fish from wally world, but I hate to see a fish suffer. I just know when I dies its thrown away and a new one takes its place.
I'm in Everett, Wa and by some fluke, all the trashy places have really shined up lately. Even the local Wal-Mart! I was chatting with my local LFS guy and he said the lady in charge of Wal-Mart's fish dept. came in with a bucketful of questions. SHE CARES. Nobody trained her, but she knew better than to sit back and watch fish die. So it's largely up to the actual personnel, not the corporation. I am surprised no longer when a PetCo in one town is dismal and the next one is golden. Petsmart is better most of the time, though.

I like LFS becuase they will just give away dying fish... and sometimes you can bring em back...

The super one in Central Park is good to there fish...it makes me at times want to get a part time job just for the fish....poor little things...
