Well I check my waters Ammonia, PH, Nitrite and Nitrate levels and this is what I got

Ammonia: 1.0
PH: 6.0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 8.0

In my tank I have running a Penguin BIO-wheel and a Fluval 405. As for fish I have Guianacara sphenozona, A few Heros, a Uaru, kehole, Balzani, and loach. For some reason 2 of my Guianacara sphenozona have passed away, do you think it could be anything in the water?

Well, ammonia of anything above 0 is unhealthy for/toxic to fish

ph is pretty low too

I thought most SA cichlids can live in water that's PH at 6.0
As long as the pH is stable, 6.0 is no problem for SA cichlids

Your ammonia is at a really high level that can make fish very sick. What size tank for all those fish? Those are quite a few fish, are they full grown or juvies? How long have you had it set up?

They are in a 75g at the moment I'm trying to get my hands on a 135g. most of the are juvies sizes range from 3-7.5" the largest is one of the severums. I have had the tank up for a year or two but had the SA cichlids for a few months.

DO you guy think the Nitrate is high?

Nitrate is '8' ppm and not '80' ppm, correct? 8 is not high, it's nice and low. If it's '80' then yes-that's too high.
You're using a liquid test tube kit, aren't you? The paper strips aren't accurate. Not sure why you'd have such a big ammonia spike if the tank's been set up that long. Has the sponge or media been disturbed or allowed to dry out in the filters?

Ammonia is as mentioned, toxic and can kill your fish if you dont fix it and find the cause.
To fix it you need to do daily waterchanges untill the ammonia reaches zero.
Do you feed your fish alot? How often to you change your water? Do you gravel vac often?
