I can't answer that question honestly from what I've seen threw pics no not as blue as these, these were wild caught from mato grosso I haven't seen any one else's MG zulies but all mine have had this blue of fins the one I lost to getting eaten which killed the 18" tem that ate it was by far the bluest of the 4 I had and actually one of them was from another member on here, but with that said this is a more recent development even rt now if I posted a pic every one would think there not even the same fish. I didn't do anything special other than big weekly water changes with swapping over to a bigger filter Cuz the fx5 weren't cutting it that's when I got this pic was about 3 Weeks after the sump was put in place and as for feeding I'm using Hikari cichlid gold and cichlid staple mixed together with "treats" every so often of shrimp (with the shell on and whole) prawns, tilapia and they like the occasional hot dog lol I let my daughter hand feed our red tail so It gets hot dogs for that every so often when she's brave to do it lol
interesting, I'm going to try to feed with the shell on once in a while. I know coloration in fish can come from shellfish, maybe this has added to their blueness

It might have tbh I always deshelled and cut the heads off them till another local keeper who knows more than me on fish told.me I was wasting all the "good stuff" lol but hey crustaceans bring out reds in red tails so it might have something to do with it
yea exactly. I feed my bass shrimp almost every day. But I have captive bred azuls. Ill make a thread in a few months and see how my coloration turns out compared to yours...i don't think it will come close though.
