Dang, your Bass are growing really fast! It's taking me a long while now setting up this damn 180 gal of mine. Lots of problems with it. Seals are bad on the bulkheads so I had to reseal them. The background is completely jacked up (not using that anymore), there's a huge broken piece of black acrylic in the background that I had to tear off. Looks super ugly! Having this tank for about almost 2 months and looking closer at it, there's some really nick picking issues with this tank. Seems like they spray painted this tank black instead of using real paint. It's just terrible. I didn't even fill it with water yet just to see if it leaks elsewhere. A lot of money has been put into this tank already. Wish I would've just built my own. (I'm using tile for my bottom instead of sand)

Gonna move some fish around today. Got to get the jar alone. Only one sowardtail left now. The warning/distraction fish did there job.

Here is a vid. They are still coming back from being sick but they are almost there.

You have some very stable Dats. Wish mine were like that.

Double post again

I sold my dats.

Be careful with the tile. I did that a while ago and didn't notice a polished chemical on the marble I got. Added it to the tank the coating came off and killed everything in that tank. I did painted ceramic tile and it looked nice. I am finding just painting the glass is better. Imo.

Gl on your tank

Thanks for looking out. Now I'm second guessing about using tile now. My first time so I didn't even think about that. They didn't have any ceramic tiles I like so I used porcelain tiles. I'm still having issues with this tank. Had to remove the drain bulkhead again. The piece of black acrylic is stuck on the tank good around where the bulkhead is so I can't reseal it until it is completely removed. Tried to remove it some more yesterday and it chipped off a piece of the acrylic. Idk if it was the previous owner that place this black acrylic in there but whoever did it, definitely did not know what they were doing. Not saying that I know what I'm doing too but they shouldn't have done what they did. Looks like I'm going to have to dremel that piece off, slowly.

Been busy. Tried to focus on the intermidia. It ended up as a group pile..lol. They are doing great and eating well. Catching up to the tems. Putting on some mass also. Was doing a wc and figured I shoukd take some pics. I did lose my smallest azul. Tried to reintroduce it to the azul broko group and it was just a bit too small. Found out as my broko tried to eat it. Didn't miss by much but enough to be wrong. So the totals now are...

6x azul
3x tem
3x intermedia
2x xingu
3x mono
2x brokopondo
3x Kel(at least for now)

Tems grow stupid fast. Man you must be going through some food for these guys do you supplement with shrimp or tilapia? I feed a mix hikari floating sticks, massivore, and shrimp but not all my bass eat shrimp. The ones that do seem to grow faster.

I feed Hikari foodsticks, massivore, and tilapia. I tried shrimp but they dont really go for it yet. They do put down some though. The tems are quickly getting me thinking about moving them to the 180gal. They now are almost too big for the 20"+ achara cat to eat. I want to move the 3 together. Then after they are out I may be able to move the azul/brokopondo group in with the rest. Although with how fast these intermedia are growing I might have to wait until either the azul catch up or the intermedia can go in the 180gal. The ones that are not really adding much in length is the xingu. They are looking better but not gaining length like the others.

I also did some more modification to the filtration system for their tank. I habe a 40gal or so sump. That has a pump that is restricted to about 700gph on the 180gal. The left over flow, about 700gph is pumped to the 125gal the bass are in. The overflow for the 125gal used to go back to the sump. I now added a 20gal that is a fluidized bed filter. It gets the overflow from the 125gal now then back to the sump. I am going to remake the overflow for the 20gal as it can only handle the 700gph. Once I remake the overflow ill be adding another 600gph pump to the system pushing through the 125gal.

Total system volume is 365gals with about 1500gph going through it now and going to end up with 2100gph on it. At least until I add to it...lol

A pic of the 20gal bed filter conversion. I habe about 5 liters of k2 style and 2 liters of k3. Ill be adding more to it as I go. Still habe to add eggcrate to hold the media back from the overflow.
