my whole collection pic heavy

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Damn tuff weekend. The feeders looked clean but brought in ich. Then the smallest brokopondo got a fungus somehow. It had a spot on its tail that I though was just a slimecoat issue from shipping. Turned out to be fungus. When I separated it to get a fungus treatment going it turn out to be too much for the little guy. Wasnt very aggressive eater and planned on the move anyway for him. Just had to wait until the azuls were big enough as it was eating some. The other 2 broko are doing well and pounding food. One especially as it smashes pellets and fillets.

Very nice collection!. Beef up the filtration....they grow fast and eat a lot.

Oh noooooooooooooooo!!!!

Carlos, you have some experience with brokos.....do you feel they are more sensitive than others? Especially water condition.

M Mr.AzulBass yeah i saw that already. no fungus here, but idk how he got them on pellets already!

Yeah it sucks. It was weird also. That fish was grey the whole time. The others were and are green that one was grey. Idk if that had anything to do with it not making it. It was skinny, not an agressive eater and off color. I am kinda wondering if maybe it slipped through and had something else as well since fungus is generally an after effect of something more. Everything else is solid and on treatments to be sure nothing more happens. Ill also be treating with some prazi to be safe on ip.

That is a good question. My water quality wasnt an issue here. 0 across the board, with nitrates at 10ppm. Ph is 7.4-7.6 stable. As I just listed I kinda feel there may have been something else over looked.

I think this one slipped through. With something more. It happens though.

As for the pellets they are with trainer fish and other bass that eat pellets. I do multi stage feedings, start with pellets then move on to more.

The only things stumping me now are these xingu. They don't even want bloodworms. They seem to get excited now that the sd are settling in. Yet only one hits super small feeders at random. Larger, but edible sized feeders are still cruzing in the tank with no interest from the xingu. I am stumpped. I am going to try rosies instead of goldfish in the next day or so.

What's your water temp? With ich and small cichla, I would keep it on the warmer side. Helps with appetite too.
