The only thing with this is that i would think it may escalate a situation. Unless it was the pink one, but then does it defeat the purpose?

I would suggest a pepper spray with no less than 10% OC.

Sprays produced now have a very high scovile heat unit rating and are VERY HOT. I know first hand. Also, most sprays come with a chemical dye as well to mark the attacker.

The result is the attacker immediately slamming the eyes shut followed by choking and gagging. Its very affective in my opinion.

so my wife wants some pepper spray or ???? for protection from dogs and "bad guys" while she walks with our kids. i know nothing about this stuff and she wont carry a gun/knife. so i need some help on what to get her thats not only effective, but also easy to use and safe enough to keep kids from accidently using it( not fool proof but some sort of safety on it).

Tranquilizers some rope and duct tape? no, I'm serious. other than that I can only think of a .177 pistol, maybe Co2 powered? my dad has one and he got it becuase he would ride his bike and dogs would chase him, it might work for her.

this one she likes, and i like the fact that she couldnt have it pionted at herself accidently, well she could i guess ive seen dumber things happen lol.

I think of it this way with the laws if it saves her or the kids lives we will deal with the rest when it happens....kill the bugger and we can go to court and find a simpathetic jury....

Far out! you guys must live in rough neighbourhoods! I wouldn't even think of needing something to protect myself with while walking kids or dogs. I would hate to have to worry about carrying a weapon of some sort.

not very rough, but crazy shiz happens to good people. also its the counrty with cyotes and such running around.

i agree, but she'd rather die trying to protect our kids than do nothing. better no have it and not need it, over need it and not have it. im shure the time will never arise, but....
