This past spring I took my wife catfishing. We went to Brownlee reservoir. Brownlee is a large reservoir on the Snake River on the border of Idaho and Oregon. It's famous here locally for Crappie and Catfish. This past year was an insane water year so they had drawn the reservoir down quite a bit for most of the spring and early summer to try to deal with the years massive runoff. I have never seen the reservoir this low, so fishing was a guessing game... we didn't get into the cats until a later trip but we sure hit the carp...

The guy in the picture is my uncle, I am not pictured... was a pretty good night of fishing.. we tossed back twice as many as are on the stringer.. my wife wanted to keep them all but I knew our freezer was going to be pushed to it's limits with just this one trip.. we have had some great fish fries this year.

She had a blast.. both of those are in the 30lb+ range.. both caught on a nightcrawler in a pretty heavy current in early may.. water temp in the 50's

Nice catch. Wish we have something like that here instead of coconuts. Lol

really nice channel cats! Those carp are monsters too. A blast to catch since they fight so well, especially the big ones.

She caught 3 carp over the course of 3 trips, all of them that size. We hit the cats really well on 2 of the trips. The largest one in the pictures was probably around 12 lbs and the smallest just under 4. It really made a difference for us this year as we only had my meager income for a good part of the year and the food reserves from this trip let us eat for quite awhile. If i had to guess, I think we caught 60 or 70 cats from about 5 in the afternoon to around 12 at night when a massive thunderstorm rolled in and pushed us into the truck.
