My wild Silver

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I pretty sure most arowana's both black and silvers aro's are wild.......they pretty much all get exported from south america......that is the reason you dont really see small black arowana anymore, considering they usually get passed as silvers at customs.

One question... how to tell if it's a wild one?

Well that's what it was sold as from my LFS. They do carry alot of rare fish and I talk with the owner regularly. It was smaller than the reg silvers for sale at almost the same price. However it looked much better so I took this guy.

So I've had this guy a little over a month. Thought I'd finally post pics of him. He's currently at 6" and has been eating Hikari Tropical Food Sticks since day one. No special lighting just regular power compact flourescent.

Ahhhh, i thought you meant "wild" as in "cool" and not "wild" as in "caught-from-the-wild". Hmmmm, interesting. I have never seen a wild (L0) silver before. Would be most interesting to follow the grow development

Yeah thats kinda wat its hard to tell, how is it wild or not? Well Jo, i guess you didnt get the chance to buy a black arowana as you wanted...

Yea I haven't seen or heard anything yet locally. I know some are on sale online, but I want to see the coloring, fins, barbs, before I buy mine.
