That is a very normal shovelnose behavior, many hunt like that, some just like chillin like that. My LSN stands on his nose most of the time when he's not prowling around.

Love this fish. Didn't see him eat yet but awesome fish. I will try shrimp again tonight after being with the family 
When i got my LSN he wouldnt eat for almost a week and only live food at that. but after a while he started takin some frozen blood worms now and then, and wont touch shrimp unless they're live lol.
nice cat, just wait till your going to have this statement fall out of your cake hole...."damn it, you dirty bastard.....why would you?....how could you?....that fish was to big!!!...." if you keep it with other fish it will happen. look up some of my vids on youtube and see my cats. here is a pic of my 20" and my 16". my 20" could/did eat a 6" sunfish.
I've always had good luck with both shrimp and pellets. I'm super jelly! At least I still have a few kitties!
