My Year old snapping turtle

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well does anyone have a decent sized AST that doesn't try to attack you whenever you get close? Or do you need to just handle them more to make them more relaxed? Do they have the memory to remember you or are they like snakes? Mines 23lbs and he trys harder to bite me everytime... i haven't touched him in 4 months since! lol

Nice Turt!...The one I had way back when was a nasty bugger. He snapped so hard one day that he cracked the tank glass. From there, it was plastic tubs for him.

I have a plastic tub waiting....yikes!

serious? How thick was the glass? i might need to do that....

It was a 30 Gallon aquarium, so the glass was probably like 1/8"-3/16" thick. All I heard as i passed by the tank was POW....crack, haha. I thought he would have been hurt, but he was unscathed.

post some pictures of those snappers... i would love to see the 23 pound guy..even if you have to stand far away to take the picture.

Nice turtle, I am always finding baby snappers around my house. Everyonce in a while I will see a full grown one at local ponds, very beautiful to see.
