Anyone know how fast can this grow? Myleus schomburgkii or blue hook silver dollar? I have 3 and little over 3 inches. How long should I wait for them to reach atleast 4 or 5 inches? Thanks

Never raised the Blue Variety.....Red Hooks grow pretty slow despite crazy eating! I have my 2 for two years....One is 3.5 the other is 4 inches.....they seem to be gaining girth now. My guys are buddies but also always nip at each other....Never seem to completely regrow thier fins! I would guess around two years to reach 4 inches from three.....They eat more than anyone but grow the slowest in my tank!
You may be right. There were three. They never grow full fins back but one looks to be a red hook. The other? Not so sure....i thought maybe a male and female? What do you think they are??
My camera is dead....needs batteries....This one might help...Are you in culinary school or working in the business yet.....are you old enought yet? LOL This one looks like a red hook to me.....I totally could be wrong the tank I bought him out was mixed and eveyone was pretty banged up!

Good luck at Johnson and Wales.....prefer the CIA myself....both great schools! Experience is way more important then schooling however.....hook up with a great chef and work your ass off.....become a sponge.....repeat. After three or four years of good high volume fine dining under your belt you will be ready to make your mark! Good Luck!
