No metal fittings. Pump is good also, opened it up the impeller and veloute are perfect. Cleaned check valve every service too. We always run 1qt of carbon and its changed every service also.
The only thing that was added was a calcium reactor and new tunze skimmer. We had originally thought that we had a tainted co2 cylinder, but we hooked it up on a our shop tank with no problems.
After the tear down we didn't use all the rock cause of the way we built it. One of my guys took home a good 20lbs of nice coraline rock and put it in his tank. His system is running fine.
I was thinking about Palytoxin but I cant find anything about it harming fish. I mean honestly what kills fish but not corals? Why are the corals Thriving? What could have possibly happen to the live rock on a system that was running perfectly for 6 years? What caused the skimmer to over collect in the first place It just doesn't make any sense.
The fish die with mouth wide open and fins forward just like suffocation.
I'm wondering if it is a disgruntled employee who is poisoning the tank some how.
