I did. For the month that it didn't have anything in it I drained it completely, 100%, every Sunday, and thoroughly cleaned the inside of the tank (not with any cleaning product) and completely cleaned the filters. I didn't use any water conditioner to fill it back up every week in the hopes that the tap water would also disinfect.

The first fish I put in after this was the arowana. In 3 days it started showing signs, and in 6 it died.

This tank is my 225 gallon.

The baby clown knife was in a 30 gallon.

The lungfish was transferred from the 225 to my 55 at the start of all this.

I posted all the information he asked for in my original post. Now this thread has turned into a trolling contest. Thanks for your help.

He is a mod, that's what the red name means, and one of the most helpful people on the site in terms of treating fish diseases.

I suspect he did read the original post, as did I, in which you say your water parameters are "fine".

Unfortunately, fine is not a number, and "fine" for one fish with regards to many of the parameters listed above will not be "fine" for another. You also do not specify how much water you change out per week, how you do so, or the size of your tanks. Lastly, the "recommended filtration" gallonage on a filter is only a marketing scheme. If you're not familiar with how effective a filter is from experience, read users reviews and research flow strength and biological capacity. Most successful fishkeepers on this site judge their filtration by gallons per hour turnover, and ideally you'd want your tank water volume turned over completely 10x+ in an hour.

People are actually trying to help you, don't be snippy.

I saw no numbers posted "my perameters are fine" and the "major ammonia spike" after the knifefish died are not giving me any information to work with. The water perameters I ask for in my original post are the numbers I needed if I was to recomend a possibile course of treatment. Not all meds work the same in all types of water so the numbers I asked for do become critical. At any rate, I wish you luck solving your issue.

Ditto

You are just gonna keep guessing unless you start documenting numbers. Clearly your params are NOT fine if you keep having these problems.

^ other then not saying please. That wasn't rude. I read the op and waterchanges clearly aren't the issue. Don't stir stuff up man. Drama free is what makes mfk a decent forum. :)
