Hello, I went to my lfs yesterday and while walking around in noticed in a tank full of Danios hidden in the back corner a 2 inch fish with beautiful colors that looked like a central American cichlid of some sort, I asked what he was and the owner said it came with one of his fish order's and he didn't know so he just threw it in a random tank, anyways I bought it for 5$ wondering if someone could help me figure out what it is? Sorry for the bad pic

Looks like a Cuban cichlid to me

Looks like Nandopsis tetracanthus (although these days could be a hybrid) they are very aggressive, predators, males reach 10+"
here are some I had to compare.
female

male

Could be a hybrid between tetracanthus and a green terror/ jack dempsey with those blue markings

Looks nice if it is that, another thing I forgot to mention, the owner said the fish was packaged in its own separate little bag alone thought that was strange...

Looks like a hybrid to me, definitely a lot of cuban in there though.

But it does not look exactly like the baby cubans that I have seen.

Well thank you all for the responses, I was thinking it could be part jack Dempsey due to the blue speckling and the red edging on the dorsal fin

Looks 100% cuban to me. I've had juvenile Cubans with red on the dorsal and a blue hue to them before. Not my fish but a reference point to some other small Cubans.
