So out of the blue my 4 intermedia growouts have developed a almost bloody coloring where the fin rays on the dorsal fin connects to the body as well as where the pectoral fins attach to the body. Am I dealing with a bacterial infection? Charney Charney wednesday13 wednesday13 parameters are 0 nitrite 0 ammonia >5ppm nitrates 30% waterchanges every 3 days. 80 gallon aquarium 4) 4" cichla intermedia

S squint the goldfish forum incident was similar to mine, I dewormed and treated for parasites as a preventative measure in quarantine for 3 days with general cure, this was a reaction after the treatment just like in the goldfish forum, their solution was adding salt and said it disappeared in 3 days, I've added salt so let's see what happens.

Although idk how they medicated, I always soak the foods my fish are eating

Charney Charney can you shed any light? They have this coloration in their mouth as well. Any ideas what to treat it with or where to go from here?

I would think either a fluke infection or possible bacterial. How are the fish doing?

they're acting normal, I've added salt the past couple days, all feeding and swimming normal, just can't get past the blood coloring on the dorsal and pectoral fins as well as the inner rim of the mouths, should I treat with melafix?

At first I thought it may be septicemia, but water quality is prestine and there's no ulcers and blood batches on the body, just the spots I mentioned.

Should I soak their food in furan2? I treated them with general cure last week through their food as one had clear stringy poo
